Stone Soup Croutons, 2-22-23: Destiny Can't Wait

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have a book collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

Welcome back, Black Byrd! I m sorry the YouTube video isn't up yet. I'm going to see what I can do about fixing the fact that it's out of sync. Until then, here's another poem for a quiet intimate feature with friends. Thanks for reading.

Destiny Can't Wait

Even as we manifest,
the trains derail

over burial ground
of last stage coaches.

Schools degrade to teach
two words: Winner and

Loser, doubling as numbers
Have and Not.

Teach children to fly.
They may replace you soon.

Laurel couldn't stay..

Special thanks to Jan Rowe, Bill "X" Lewis, Angelo D'Amato, Nancy Dodson, James Van Looy and Black Byrd.
