2004: Are You Through Yet?
Going back to my apartment tonight. Nothing but quiet and maybe a Three Stooges marathon. And Lynne, if she's up to conquering traffic to get to me. Tomorrow, it's Len's party/reading at Poetribe, with Lynne definitely.
My friend goes back to Fort Bragg tomorrow. As I've written elsewhere, he leaves January 8. I'm glad it looks like his platoon will be looked out for better than most of the others who have gone and come back. Much better.
I've noticed that a lot of people go up to him and say "Thank you" when they find out where and when he's off to Iraq. Not believing in this war a single bit, all I can do is say I love him and get back soon. Hopefully, that's not too commie.
I'm not going to comment much on the annoying quotes from religious leaders I've read on the meaning of the recent tsumani overseas. I will say that while I don't think it's a sign that God hates Gays or anything like that (no one seemed to be afraid when God seemed fit to destroy Florida a couple of times), it's all too fitting an end to a horrendous year of pointless war, fundamentalists running rampant, and frightened people not rocking the boat (even if the boat is loaded with disease-ridden corpses).
I want to thank everyone who's viewed and contributed to my blog this year. I can promise more poetry and productivity in 2005. The new computer is finally a go. by January's end, hopefully, I'll be hooked up at home for the first time in three years. Not being dependent on work computers means more pictures here, the beginning of my comics blog, and the ability to start one or two chaps in time for the Boston Zine fair.
Keep checking back. I'll try not to disappoint.
