Friends Catching Up
This morning, I got my first email from Mike, currenly serving overseas as a sergeant in the National Guard.
It was a quick email with "Iraq" in the subject box, and some words about the existing vegetation there (he brought seeds over to plant, if you can believe it).
A cloud lifted, however briefly.
I've discussed on this blog and during performances about how I differ from many of my friends and much of my family, concerning the last war and the possibly forthcoming ones. It's nice to know when something happens during the day and you decisively know that none of it matters--for a while, anyway.
War or no war, I gotta be there for him.
I just finished an email to him, with the subject, "Iraq?!? I thought you were in Iran, already!"
War or no war, you gotta be you.
