Update
Hoping to make up for the lack of posting tonight. I'm visiting friends right now. They have a great computer, and I have a lot of thoughts flying around.
Last weekend was about all about Lynne, as I watched the run-though of Space Opera, whose casts (there are 2 playing at alternate times) have a diverse range of age. It's basically the very first Star Wars movie (I refuse to call it Episode 4), and the moment in the opera that still makes me chuckle was the scene where they reenact Darth Vader taking over Princess Leia's ship. The rebels were mostly teens and adults, so it was funny when they put their hands up in despair when the waist-high Stormtroopers rushed them.
(Kind of a reverse version of that scene in The Simpsons where Civil War re-enacters go after Bart's class for sneaking in to see them and trying to learn for free. One of the soldiers yells "Use your empty muskets as clubs!")
The only other thing I'll give away is that the eight year old Jabba The Hut is pretty cool.
Bret is working on the Sarcastic Haiku chap. Should be ready by next week, bless him. Those who like the installments will be happy to know that there will be lots you haven't seen here or anywhere else.
Finishing up on the National Poetry Month piece for Whats Up. Got a reprieve on the deadline for a day or two. Apparently, the editor's parents are visiting for the weekend. Ah, volunteer staff. Anyway, there's no freaking way they will take the whole piece, which is getting up to five pages. I may as well put the rough draft up here.
New computer is in. I'll have money for it next Friday. By the end of March, I'll be cool. And hopefully looking for one of those cool flat screens.
More later.
