NaPoWriMo

The National Poetry Writing Month call/challenge/shindig is on again this April--National Poetry Month, uncoincidentally enough. I just answered this poet's call. I've actually been pretty busy working on the roommate/apartment poems for the last couple of weeks. I just need to start jotting them down in front of my computer.

Next month would also be a good time to start doing the "Sarcastic Haiku" again, if I can muster it. I kind of stopped when politics stopped being funny even in a dark sense. That happened right around the same time the media started talking about (with a straight face) how George Bush was in trouble. Never mind the fact that he is well into the second term, purposely setting up future presidents for a fall, and might even be untouchable if footage of Dick Cheney fucking the bullet hole of his shooting victim shows up.

Okay, I'm depressed again. So there may not be haiku, but there will be poetry. I think I can promise that.
