Monday Night at Stone Soup

I've been waiting since the new year to feature Sue Savoy. Tomorrow, I finally get my wish, and people will finally get to meet the poet I've been hyping even before I knew when the proclaimed "Sweetheart of the Cantab" was coming.

I described her (more or less) like this: If Charles Bukowski had a girlfriend, and this girlfriend got sick of his shit one night and beat his ass down once he had too many Heinekens, this hypothetical girlfriend's poetry would sound a little like the speaker in Sue Savoy's poems. Only with a little less edge.

Those who knew her almost nodded. Those who didn't were, I hoped, properly intrigued. Hopefully, you are too.

So what are you waiting for (I mean, besides tomorrow)? See Sue Sue Savoy feature at Stone Soup this Monday.
