Lingering Thought From Last Week

Writing and reading about the whole gay marriage thing reminded me of something Bill Hicks said when he was still alive. This quote refers to flag burning, but in his life, he also applied this quote to the legalization of marijuana, and I think it could be applied to the gay marriage issue easily.

"For those people who think that flags should be able to be burnt, make it legal...For those people who think it should not be--it's not, it never was, don't worry, we're cracking down...And that way life would exist exactly as it does now, only without the onus of guilt, shame, or legality, and freedom in it's true definition will be experienced."
