Post Publishing Thoughts

I've had such a fear of putting Spoonful # 0 together for more than a year, having done nothing like this before. Who would've thought I'd start getting ideas on how to put together issue # 1--and try to start up some of those ideas less than twelve hours after I finished everything. And did I mention the three late nights in a row prior to this?

When I realized the futility of starting anything new, that's when I knew I needed to get to sleep. Or maybe that's when I just fell asleep at my desk. Whatever. The last couple of days have been a blur of recovery. Still, it seems I am still "on" and should keep going while this burst of creative energy is still going. Most of it, though, has been answering questions rather than laying out any already accepted poems.

Not only that, but the day after Spoonful's release, I ended up realizing another reason why I chose online publishing: the grade curve. I ended up completely omiting two of the poets (ironically, two of the poets I had the most contact with) not only from the bio page, but also from the initial press releases. They're back now, but damn, I felt awful.

So, did I mention I'm looking for proofreaders? Hopefully, I've found one, because I'm definitely finding a lot more submissions coming my way, including from some people I do not recognize at all. Assuming I accept at least one poem from everyone submitting, the next issue stands to be twice as large.

Don't let that stop any of you from submitting, though.
