Prep Work, Part 6

When James came through with the rough draft to the Discarded cover last week and I voiced certain concerns, James told me he would try to send me a new version within a week. He actually came through this past weekend. In an email titled, "Me and my trusty x-acto," he presented the following three reworked versions.

I looked a the first one and thought, "Perfect!"

Then I opened up version two and thought, "Hmmm, maybe white space is better."

Then I opened up version three and thought, "Hmmm, maybe we do need more detail in the back showing that this is an outside/street scene. Or does that even matter?"

Well, we're not out of the woods yet, but I can see the sunlight and the beginnings of a pathway. I'll be sending these samples to Gloria Mindock tonight just to update her on our progress (and hopefully get some input from her) before taking time to concentrate on what's inside the book.

Am I retahded because I can't tell much difference between the three?

The differences are subtle, and I'm pretty anal about these things. 'Nuff said.
