I've been trying to write a poem on a particular topic/friend for the past week or so. The one below bears little relation to what I'm working on now, but it was written earlier with the same person in mind (some, if they dig a bit hard, will see a nod to one of my older works). I think I've been working in a vacuum lately, so I'm posting the poem here in an attempt to work out whatever blocks I have with the poem-in-progress.
