"Rock-A-Bye Bear," one of the best Tex Avery cartoon shorts ever made. Courtesy of YouTube.
Watch it while it's still up (these shorts get put up and taken down every few weeks or so).
Actually, I'm sorry. The all-time best short is "Rural Red Riding Hood." Yes, even better than the original "Red Hot Riding Hood."
Then again, even though Tex Avery hated his Screwy Squirrel creation, I have a soft spot for any cartoon that has a character based on Lenny from Of Mice and Men.
But what about this one, even with the dated humor about wartime rationing (and especially with the rabbit at 1:38)?
And this is why it's harder to pick a favorite Tex Avery toon than it is to pick a favorite Beatles song. That question I can at least given an answer according to my mood (right now, "Day Tripper").

Oh I love Tex Avery. He's a huge influence on my acting.
Too bad the videos have already been taken down.
