Poem: "Late At Night"

I recited this poem--an old favorite of mine--on September 13th, 2003 as part of a TV segment that ran on publc access in Somerville, Massachusetts: "Spaces/Places: Voiced Reflections." It was a companion piece to the Windows Art Project displayed in Union Square and sponsored by the Somerville Arts Council under the theme of spaces and places. All the writers were filmed at once, and each reading was broken up by footage of the various exhibits around the city square.

My poem, I felt, just barely fit the requirements, but they seemed fine with it. They just told me not to wear any blue, other wise I would appear partly invisible sitting in front of the blue backdrop that helped to show the looping city scene.
