Criminally Belated Thanks to Hans Rickheit

As I settle dowm from my New Orleans trip and plan the week ahead, it's imperative that I give praise, props, and promotion to Hans Rickheit, the cartoonist who currently resides in Philadelphia (seen above from the 2003 Beantown Zinetown). I did a reading in Philly back in April, and Hans was kind enough to set me up the night before the gig. I did some video of him and his work that I'll hopefully have up in a week or so. For a teaser, I'm including a photo of a wall in Hans' apartment, carrying his artistic touch.

Hans' newest graphic novel is scheduled to come out by the end of the year. It's called The Squirrel Machine, and I've been honored with an advance copy from Hans himself. I started reading it while flying back from New Orleans and can't wait to finish it later this week. The rest of you can get a sneak peak at the book's homepage here.

Thanks again, Hans. Have a photo of your cat as another token of my appreciation.

A new Hans Rickheit comic? Woohoo!

He did this great Jack Kirby homage which featured Sigmund Freud as as a super-science-hero.

Did you ever see Chloe?

Yeah. I remember reading Chloe when he had it hanging at the Zeitgeist Gallery as part of an art show.
