Towards the end of last 2009, I wrote a poem called "He Wants to Be The Lion of Lonely-Hearts" over the course of twenty four hours during a weekend that carried the mood behind the title. I posted it and ended up reading it for my last two features of the year. If I knew it was going to be so well-received, I might have saved it for "real" publication instead of putting it online. For my Nantucket feature, I brought back my Freak Machine Press self-publishing imprint and printed a few copies of a broadside (with an illustration by James Conant) to give out for free. The broadside is currently unavailable, but I plan to print up more at a later date. If anyone is interested in acquiring a copy (and I may take the poem offline to add incentive), email me and let me know.
