NaPoWriMo, Day Twenty Five, Poem Seventeen

Seeking Answers

He doesn't answer your latest email.
Stalk him and kill him.
You put your ear to the new mouth.
Hope for a confession there.

No good. A disembowelment is next.
Might be an answer deeper within.
Fortune cookie style confessions
scrawled into intestine.

Failure again. The first mouth
needs to be opened wider.
The knife is already failing.
Maybe a sharpened rib?
But you're losing the light.

It's not just the night. The glow
you know you saw inside of him
even before the inquisition.

It's gone. Interrogating people
to find soul mates, you've forgotten again
that souls have skins for a reason.
