Host Janet Cormier is a poet, comedian and visual artist and Jamaica Plain resident. She has appeared in Jamaica Plain First Thursdays and other venues as well as elementary and high schools in and around Boston. She has also been a guest reader on Somerville Community Access Television. Janet Cormier is also the host and producer of CORMIER’S COMEDY MADNESS, a monthly comedy show at the All Asia in Cambridge which showcases the talent of comedians as well as poets and musicians.
Chad Parenteau is a Jamaica Plain resident and a recognized member of the Boston poetry community. He is the current host of Stone Soup Poetry series. In 2003, he was the recipient of a Cambridge Poetry Award. Parenteau’s work has appeared online and in print and was included in French Connections: A Gathering of Franco-American Poets. Chad self-published his first chapbook, Self-Portrait In Fire. His later chapbook Discarded: Poems for My Apartment was published by Červená Barva Press. Parenteau has been featured in such prestigious venues as Spoken Word Nantucket, Fox Chase Reading Series in Philadelphia, and The 17 Poets Reading Series in New Orleans .
Beatrice Greene is a poet, writer, composer and pianist who resides in Jamaica Plain. In 2005 she received a commission from the Women’s United Nation Reporting Network to write and perform her composition honoring individuals who have sought to end violence against women throughout the world. Beatrice Greene is a member of Streetfeet Women and her work has appeared in Sojourner and Bayou.
