This photo of G. Emil Reutter, Jack Powers and myself was taken with G.'s camera from his first feature on January 23rd, 2005. It was his first time at Stone Soup. I was still getting used to guiding Stone Soup, and Jack Powers was still getting used to me as he was getting more sick. After a few months of being around him and dealing with him being sick and not interacting with me in any direct manner, this was the first time I remember him interacting with me positively and with no reservations. I'm glad that G., who didn't know Jack Powers at all, captured a moment to come back to in the days after Jack's death and the aftermath of the numerous memorials tributes. I had to take a break from those, but I'll be posting more of them over the next couple of days.

Jack Powers: A Better Day
