Sometime in The Fall, Ethan Mackler Helped Breathe Life Into Stone Soup

Bassist Ethan Mackler first became known to Stone Soup as part of Da Butcha 'shoppe in 2010. Since then, Ethan has come into his own. He enjoys collaborating with other poets, and this past October, he had him feature with James Van Looy on the strength of their work together on the open mike.

Since then, he's gone on to not only play with more open mikers, but also with our last two features, Samantha Jane and Tom Daley. You might even see a sample or two later today.

It's way too early to call Ethan a new fixture at Stone Soup, but he's been coming frequently enough that I'll be trying to figure out some way to promote his contributions and his work as a musician in general. I owe him at least that much for his contributions.
