My girlfriend and I are both happy when we go to events that take place in Boston. It reminds us why we both moved here when we did. Otherwise why not just commute to work from the suburbs? Although I must say that commuting to work in under an hour from my girlfriend's apartment or under twenty minutes from my place are both things I could never do if I still lived in Bellingham.
Last night, with my girlfriend away with her daughter, I took a long way home, stopping at an art event near Chinatown before walking to Park Street and taking time to photograph the Boston Common area for the sake of practicing with my iPhone. Sure commuters plow through this area every day, but it's a perspective you don't really get to stop and see unless you live in the city.
