Rona Laban was co-leader of the Duxbury Poetry Circle for three years. Last year she appeared in a poetry in the round reading with two other poets, at Barry Hellman’s Annual Valentine’s Event at the Brewster library, as well as in a group reading at the Plymouth Library for National Poetry month. Her Haikus’ have appeared in Extracts (A daily dose of it), an online zine. Her poetry has been in two poetry anthologies: Making Waves and Voices from Everywhere.
T. Michael Sullivan has directed the annual Writers’ Workshop sponsored by the William Joiner Institute for the Study of War and Social Consequences at the University of Massachusetts Boston since its inception in 1987. Prior to that, he was a high school English teacher and a journalist, winning regional and national awards as editor of the Somerville Journal. Subsequently, he was a humor columnist, syndicated among community newspapers. His creative work has appeared in various publications, including Boston Poet, Ibbetson Street, the Bagel Bards Anthology, Consequence Magazine and, most notably, the Irish Poetry Review. He also writes humorous rap songs.
Doors open 11:30AM, Music Feature 12:00 noon, Poetry Features 12:45pm open-mic 1:15pm. Free admission and refreshments.
