Come and read your poetry at our 13th annual “Poetry Under the Trees.” Poets read their works in the yard of an historic house at 142 Old Main Street as festival goers make their way from exhibit tent to tent. It’s a very relaxed & fun atmosphere.

This 40th Annual Festival of the Arts is sponsored by the North River Arts Society.   Last year’s festival included the work of over 200 artists, craftsmen, and performers, and attracted well over 9,000 visitors. Featured events include ”Poetry Under the Trees”-Open Mike, hosted by Rich Berg and Sheila TwymanJuried Art, Sculpture and Photography; Art Sale, Artisan’s Sale, Book Sale, Feature Barn, Food Tent, & Full Entertainment Schedule.

LOCATION: Look for the bright red and white “Poetry Open Mic” sign in the front yard of 142 Old Main St., Marshfield Hills Village.

TO GET THERE: From Boston: Take Route 3 South. Get off at the Hanover Exit 13 and turn left onto Route 53 toward Rt 123/Norwell. From the Cape: Take Route 3 North. Get off at the Hanover Exit 13 and turn right onto Route 53 toward Rt 123/Norwell.     Continue........
About 1/2 mile & turn right onto Route 123 and travel to the end (6 miles). Turn right onto Route 3A toward Marshfield. Cross the bridge over the marsh and take the 2nd left onto Old Main Street (landmark = blue/white/orange auto shop sign). The Festival is about ½ mile up the road so find a parking place wherever you can. Or…continue driving up Rt. 3A to the next intersection (Highland Ave) to find parking.

There will be a SHUTTLE BUS to and from the Festival from the Eames Way School. Follow directions above turning onto Highland Street, which becomes Pleasant Street, continue past Cliff Rogers Library for about a mile…Eames Way will be a street on your right. Follow to the Eames Way School. Please park in the school lot…not on the street.
