The plastic ban has been in effect for a while, but it helps to remind anyone coming into the city.
I'm a little ambiguous about the plastic ban myself. I can't help but wonder why supermarkets in particular would need to charge for paper bags if...
a) They never did in the first place and
b) They are likely going to save money by not mass producing plastic bags.
Still, I welcome the idea and encourage bringing your own bag if you're coming into Boston. And if you have to buy a sturdy plastic bag from one of the stores, take comfort with the fact that at least they are still ultra cheap and of good quality.
