Basement Mouse
died for
some cause
perhaps so
first floor's
older lady
can save
her screams
for grandson
crying along
with his mom
over homework
as he bellows
from new
ultimatum
failing math
so much
he can't
appreciate
the odds
of getting by
until now
perhaps
rodent's mind
wanders
hears tantrums
end of which
mostly meant
close clear
wonders if
poison meant
for bigger pest
upstairs.
