That's my slogan after last week's Stone Soup Croutons poem: Put a cat in it!
Neighborhood Stray
Instead of trading scratches
(me your head, you my hand)
I'll just thank you for fewer pests.
I'm feeling small today.
Any smaller, I would say
snap your teeth down.
Let me be a last meal
for two, except I'm not
hungry, and I dread winter.
Play a game with me before
your jaw clenches. I've walked
into more obvious traps.
