My last CYO award. In 1991, I performed in an adaptation of The Butter Battle Book by Dr. Seuss. I was one of the Boys in the Back Room. I wanted to be the Chief Yookeroo. My friend Dan Gibbons was slated to play it, but due to his work and school schedule, he had to back down. And I still didn't get the part. This is the ultimate participation trophy. It's likely I only got it because I got the cardboard boxes from my job at Papa Ginos to build the wall and supplied other props.
