NaPoWriMo, Day Twenty-Eight, Poem Twenty-Eight

Where I Came From

I know I'll be back again.
An indoor parade to greet me.

The memorial unveiled. Every
mistake from age four to twenty-two.

And that's were my history ends.
Where I've been doesn't matter.

Epitaph punchline was written
in the high school cafeteria.

Grade school nicknames carved
before they were ever spoken.
