Postscript

For all my anger over my missing luggage, I felt worse for the travelers leaving the country after me. By the time I left the airport without my bag my July Fourth, I understood that I was one of thousands of bags left behind.

And yet, there they were in line, hundreds of Air France travelers heading God knows where, checking in suitcases twice the size of me, several over the fifty pound limit and forgiven by the airline workers.

Those people were putting their entire lives in their luggage and trusting them to an already broken Air France.

I can only hope they reached their final destination in better shape than I did.
