Ending the week with an underrated Alice Cooper song. I almost forgot that it was one of his. A good enough song to be in rotation on radio stations today.

As I said, earlier, Alice Cooper's tone didn't always work with me. Here's where it does. It helps that the lyrics are genuinely funny, looking for a girl with a car and a gun and a job. I approve. Stinks that this song is tied to a Neil Gaiman project.

 

My Monday Morning Music

Watched a YouTube retrospective on Alice Cooper. Though made by a reprehensible character, it did get me interested in the work I would have heard as a teenager as it was coming out. I find it hard to take Alice Cooper seriously. His work can have an absurdist tone which works for songs like "No More Mr. Nice Guy" (the line about the reverend punching Alice in the nose during mass is hilarious but also works). For songs like "Hey Stoopid," an anti-suicide song, the tone doesn't work for me.
