Of all  the south shore friends I made when I started going out reading my work in 2003, David R. Surette has read at Stone Soup Poetry the most. No surprise, given how prolific he's been. It's great to have him come back to Stone Soup virtually to kick off our October features. Every feature, David shares his life story from teaching to caring for horses, from Malden, Massachusetts to the south shore to Cape Cod. It will be great to hear the latest part of his journey. I am happy to announce the release of my new book Tonic published by Moon Pie Press of Maine. It is available from Moon Pie Press.

It was so great hearing from you in the past telling me how much you enjoyed my poems. I hope we can continue that relationship with the publication of my new book.

Even though the poems were composed in the pandemic years, they span my life so far from Malden to Colby to Easton to Cape Cod.

RIP Ry Frazier

The Bridgewater Poetry Slam, which later evolved into Poetrribe, met in a number of places in Brockton and Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The spoken word venue changed locations so much, it earned them the nickname "Pomads."

Poetribe was beautifully all-inclusive, mixing the quieter verse of David R. Surette and Victoria Bosch Murray, the more extroverted, playful poetry of Len Germinara, the stern voice of Frank Miller, and the booming voices of the more youthful attendees.

It was the perfect setting for me to hear young Ry Frazier for the first time.
