 Finally started The Chocolate War last night. Here's a passage that stuck out so far.

The shadows of the goal posts definitely resembled a network of crosses, empty crucifixes. That's enough symbolism for one day, Obie told hmself. If he hurried, he could make the four o'clock bus to work.

That's enough symbolism for me too.

My Morning Song

While doing research for last Sunday's Dose of God post, I relearned that "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush was also part of the soundtrack for the film adaptation of The Chocolate War. Seems appropriate to start today with it.

Better get going. No deals with God today.

Your Weekly Dose of God

I have The Chocolate War on my reading list. Never got to the book when I was younger, but I did watch the movie adaptation in the days when  I could rent it from Tower Records on Newbury Street in Boston. I wanted to see the movie ever since viewing the trailer. The trailer had this intriguing song that invoked The Lord's Prayer throughout it's lyrics. I decided to track it down on YouTube and here it is, "In My Room" by Yazzo.
