It's near the year's end. I still haven't heard from them.
They said their response time would take eight months, so they're not late.
For most places with any prestige, it doesn't take that long to weed out my work.
One journal I sent work to this year had a standard response time of 3-5 months . It didn't even take them one month to reject me.
This is one of the rare examples when not hearing from an editor after so long is good news.
So maybe I'll strike big next year. We'll see.
