RIP Mick Cusimano

Mick Cusimano passed away last weekend, and the first thing I felt was regret.

Among my on-hold Stone Soup history projects, I wanted to reach out to recording artist Tracy Chapman. Why? Because of this written account from Mick on his website on the early days of Fire of Prometheus:

Ronald "Wayne" Nickerson (1949-2021)

This is one of the earliest surviving photos I ever took of the man whose eulogy named him Ronald "Wayne" Nickerson, though he was known to the Out of the Blue Art Gallery Cambridge crowd as R. Wayne or simply Wayne. I called him "R."

I'm known to host Stone Soup week after week with the tenacity and commitment usually attributed to stalkers and serial killers. This week is one of those work-related exceptions. I expect to be back in full force by July for the rest of the summer. This coming Monday though, is not to be missed, as we will be graced with a feature by one of the founders of the Out of The Blue Art Gallery, the longtime home of Stone Soup. Deb Priestly has been up to much as of late, and maybe she'll share some of it as she reads through new and old work. If you've never seen her or heard her work before, now is the time. And ask her about her weekly Open Bark open mic night every Saturday night from 8ish to wheneverish.
