Stone Soup Croutons, 8-14-17, Lonely Lark

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions butchered picked up from poems overheard from Stone Soup's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here. To paraphrase Lorne Michaels, this poem doesn't go up because it's ready, it goes on because it's Tuesday morning.

Last night was another Stone Soup open mic. I have the day off today, which means I'm taking things slow as I put together this piece. It was a great assortment of first timers, a visitor from overseas who did a surprise micro feature (thanks, Shakes the Poet!), and even a returning visitor from Stone Soup's days at  T.T. The Bear's Place.

In short, I had a lot to cover. Furthermore, for various reasons I was making callbacks to some of my older pieces (none of which are either crouton pieces or even online, I might take those out to read again at some point). Hope you enjoy.
