Stone Soup Croutons, 2-8-16, "This Better Not Be Like Last Time or Else It Will Be"

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions picked up from poems overheard from Stone Soup's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title either then or later. It's likely some of the poets I thank at the end won't even be able to figure out which lines were inspired by their work. To paraphrase Lorne Michaels, the poem doesn't go up because it's good; it goes up because it's Tuesday morning.

Sharley Paul was last night's wonderful feature. Apologies to her for being dumb enough to not cancel Stone Soup due to the weather. Apologies to the rest of you for the poem.

This Better Not Be Like Last Time
or Else It Will Be

You're dumber than you're brave.

The man who overcame his fear
of falling into spiked pits

February 8: Sharley Paul Stops by Rock Stone Soup's Mic

It's taken me longer to get into a groove for 2016. I am indebted to Navah The Buddaphliii for organizing the next couple of week's worth of features. She's made some amazing choices over the past few months. Spoken word artist, actor and inspirational speaker Sharley Paul is just the latest. Be in the audience as Stone Soup kicks it up a notch for February. I'm going to be as excited as you are to see what comes next.
