So much summed up in one cover by Tak Toyoshima for the post-9/11 issue of The Weekly Dig on September 19, 2001. Somehow, I also managed to hold on to the jpeg from the site back in the day.

Tak Toyoshima's birthday is today. Here's another page from The Comics Interpreter Robert Young recently scanned and sent to me. Tak's interview was the last one I did for the magazine (second volume, third issue). This was during a time when he and Keith Knight were featuring regularly in Boston's Weekly Dig. I got to interview Keith Knight too, but then Robert stopped producing issues of TCI. Maybe someday I'll buy an old mini cassette player and transcribe some of my lost files. Maybe I'll offer them to Robert if he ever produces a collection of the old interviews.

 

I Had Issues! A Review of Tak Toyoshima's The Couch

One of the graphic heavy reviews, all below the cut. I interviewed Tak Toyoshima and even worked with him to a very limited degree back when I contributed to The Weekly Dig. I was always happy to give him exposure. As of this writing, The Couch hasn't been published to my knowledge. Hopefully that will change. Originally published on June 6, 2011. Edited to correct some grammar errors and remove the artist's website, which is apparently no more.
