Your Wednesday Morning Poetry

Out with the old, in with the new. Less age and despair, more youth and excitement. That seems to be the theme this week with the Democratic National Convention in full swing. Okay maybe the vibe's not that young, but compared to what we were getting until recently, it's like we're all drinking from the Fountain of Youth.

As just one more aged man, another paltry thing, I can't think of a better choice for this week than "Sailing to Byzantium" by William Butler Yeats. Thanks again, Poetry Foundation.

Your Wednesday Morning Poetry

William Butler Yeats's poem "The Second Coming" remains an influence in my work, particularly anything I did in 2020. I referenced as recently as yesterday. Let's all revisit "The Second Coming" courtesy of the Poetry Foundation.
