NaPoWriMo, Day Four, Poem Four

For some time, I've been in the possession of several letters, origins unknown but dated from the forties and found in old books that were given to me by a friend of the family.

I remember discovering the letters around the beginning of the current war. It was interesting to observe the authors' life-goes-on attitudes at the end of the WWII and the start of the Cold War and compare it with our own today. I've been meaning to turn them into found poems for a while. Now is as good a time as any to try one.

Update: This poem can now be found in the Spring 2009 issue of The Endicott Review. Email Daniel Sklar at dsklar@endicott.edu for more information
