Occasional Benefits

As Stone Soup host, I don't get as many freebies as one might think, and I appreciate all that I get, like the drawings below from poet, filmmaker and cartoonist Mick Cusimano, who was doodling while listening to the open mike.



I like this one less for the two of me than for the pretty good likenesses of (clockwise from top left, Walter Howard, Gentleman Gault, Mingon Ariel King, and James Van Looy. And what's with the man with the axe next to me, Mick?

Actually, the real prize is the one below: Meet Bill Barnum.


I speak from experience that Bill is a hard man to film. Maybe that's why I've always admired Mick's ability to easily capture even a piece of Bill's essence with this and several other drawings he's done of the veteran's veteran of Boston poetry.
