Greetings From New Orleans (and where I'll be tonight)

I'm typing this during break, as I'm in Louisiana to train two groups of retinal imagers. Today would be my last day, but a lack of supplies (that being an extra camera) has left more than one trainee feeling a little shorted, so I'm doing remedial training before I leave tomorrow. I wish I could have explored the city during the day(I've been at the New Orleans VA early in the morning), but those are the breaks.

My work doesn't allow for FaceBook or MySpace, updates, and the hotel charges nearly a buck a minute to use their computer room. It's a good thing I still keep this up as my main blog, otherwise I'd have no way to say hi and no way to update friends on where I'm going tonight.

At the recommendation of Susan Deercloud, I'll be reading at The Gold Mine Saloon on 705 Dauphine Street tonight. The place opens up tonight at 7:00 PM and the poetry reading seems to be known amongst some locals in the area, which excites me.

Stuart Sturm is one of the people involved in the venue. I'll be speaking with him later, with any luck. For all I know, I'll be either slotted a micro feature or just an open mike slot, but I'm going all the same to listen. Maybe one of you who reads this is in the area, by fate (I didn't know I was coming here until last week)? If so, it'd be great to see you.
