A while ago I started posting old photos and other gems on my Facebook and MySpace pages. I figured I should post a few here on what's my "main" blog.
A little back story for the drawing above. Back in 1993, while at the Framingham State College newspaper The Gatepost, I was voted in as Comics Editor after losing out on both Living/Arts Editor positions. With this "Fuck You Hope You Quit" consolation prize, I created in those pages my own little playground that made me happier the more certain editors hated it.
I even pulled a Stan Lee and created a column, "The Box." My "Stan's Soapbox," if you will. I even got a non-student cartoonist, Andy Sawyer, to draw a caricature of me for the bottom of the column. I liked it so much, I accepted the two strips he had submitted to me and other newspapers in the mail. I even got him a position in the staff box (which rankled certain editors even more, for what reason I'll never figure out but will continually mock them for).
I've wanted to get back in touch with Andy for a while. Maybe posting this drawing and posting his name will help something happen through the magic of self-Googling.
