One More For The Nostalgia File
This one has been on the top of my bookshelves for years. It's from my first waitering job at Milano's Italian Kitchen, once on the corner of Berkley and Newbury in Boston. Bottles such as this one were filled with a table wine, Robert Mondavi Chianti, and carried around by us to each table we greeted. We were supposed to offer this wine to all guests as part of Italian tradition. Nearly all the waiters hated touting a wine that only cost $4 per glass and found ways to avoid it. I, on the other hand, enthusiastically touted the wine all the time, once bragging (*cough*) that I sold as much as $1000 worth of it. Even if it was true, who cares?
I took this a souvenir before I left for Legal Seafood. I think I got this one before it was ever used, but I swear it still holds the souls of past co-workers.
