I've been mostly sitting this afternoon. It's what I needed to do, given how my feet have been giving me trouble for the last few weeks.
I can sit down because I don't have to work today.
A little over a decade ago, that wouldn't have been the case, holiday or now.
If I hadn't made fortunate changes (with the help of others in my life at the time), I would still be at the whims of the people who rule the lowest rungs of the service sector, working a double shift until I was on my knees, crying to no one who would care.
So thankful.
