People I Want to See Tonight at Stone Soup
Ashley Wonder
I know I've posted this video a lot, but hey, I saw her posted as "Going" on Facebook. Sometimes that doesn't mean anything, but I'm hopeful.
Navah The Buddaphliii
I know Navah is going to be there. She recommended tonight's feature. I just want an excuse to post another video.

February 22: Let's Bring Noemi Paz Up to Stone Soup's Podium
Despite the crazy weather over the last few weeks, attendance at Stone
Soup Poetry overall has been strong. I am happy that I was able to give Ashley Wonder
her first Boston feature this past Monday. On February 22, I will be
giving Noemi Paz, the self-proclaimed Empress of Opulent Kindness, her first Stone Soup feature.
I'm excited as we draw February to a close and move closer to the next
Stone Soup Poetry Slam in March as well as National Poetry Month in
April. Not to mention Stone Soup's 45th anniversary month in Many. We
have a lot to look forward to.

Stone Soup Croutons, 2-15-16, Back from the Wild
Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions picked up from poems overheard from Stone Soup's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title either then or later. It's likely some of the poets I thank at the end won't even be able to figure out which lines were inspired by their work. To paraphrase Lorne Michaels, the poem doesn't go up because it's good; it goes up because it's Tuesday morning.
Thanks to Ashley Wonder for a wonderful performance last night. It was a very full and positive open mic, which kept me busy. Toni Bee properly smacked me down last week and told me (in so many words) not to keep feeling bad and putting it out in my writing (which I most certainly did last week due to low turnout). On top of that, my girlfriend told me I should attempt more persona pieces. I think I succeeded in at least one of those goals.
Edit: "Back From The Wild" is available only from my first collection of Stone Soup Crouton poems, The Collapsed Bookshelf, available at Amazon.
| Apologies to Navah The Buddaphlii for not being able to include her. |
Special Thanks to Christina LeBel, Gawaine Ross, Ashley Davis, Reece Cotton, Chirs Cardone, Oompa, Noemi Paz, Tim Hall, Oskar J., Gladys, Surat Lozowick, Petrina Skyy, Erik Nelson, Jonathan J. Joseph, Dexter Roberts, Ashley Wonder, DiDi Delgado and James Van Looy.

February 15: Ashley Wonder at Stone Soup Poetry
It snowed a lot this past weekend. It's snowing now as I type this, encouraging you to attend Ashley Wonder's feature at Stone Soup Poetry on February 15. I thank everyone who have been die hard enough to attend Stone Soup in the face of another storm-filled winter. I hope you all can muster that same courage and toughness and get down to the Out of The Blue Art Gallery this Monday. Ashley is a great slam poet coming to us from Worcester, and I want Stone Soup to give her a great welcome.
