I looked back recently at some footage from Ron performing his poetry alongside cellist Glynnis Lomon. I never loaded most of the photos up, and I realized why. The photos weren't very good with the lighting and the limits of my camera. I do have a ton of footage I hope to share in the coming weeks.

I'm really excited to have this event tonight. I hope you will make it to tonight's release/reading party.

Black Swans Tonight!

Hi friends,

Richard Cambridge, who curates the Poets' Theatre at Arts at the Armory, has invited Lo and the Black Swans to play there on March 18th, an upcoming Friday night.

I'll be joined by two great musicians, Ethan Mackler on electric bass guitar and Patrick Gaulin on percussion. We've added a few tunes, one a cover of a David Bowie song and one an original. If you like bluesy pop rock please join us. 

$10 cover.

Arts at the Armory is located between Davis Square and Union Square. Free parking is located behind the Armory. Arts at the Armory is approximately a 15-minute walk from Davis Square, which is on the MTBA Red Line. You can also find us by using either the MBTA RT 88 and RT 90 bus that can be caught either at Lechmere (Green Line) or Davis Square (Red Line). Get off at the Highland Avenue and Lowell Street stop. You can also get to us from Sullivan Square (Orange Line) by using the MBTA RT 90 bus. Get off at the Highland Avenue and Benton Road stop.

This Will Make Me Happy Today

Above is a picture of Ron Goba. I am revealing bias because I usually don't post photos of Oddball Magazine contributors, but Ron is someone close to my heart and an inseparable piece of my history as a writer.

I recently attended a reading of Ron's at The Armory. A fantastic night. Even better, I was able to get some audio footage for today's 3TV at Oddball. So go over there now and read then listen to a segment of his "Armory" poems, with music by jazz musician Glynis Lomon.

Ron Again!

The first of the pictures I took of Ron Goba's Friday performance with musician Glynnis Lomon as it was happening. This was only one of a couple pictures I took that used a flash. I didn't want to risk disrupting either performer, which thankfully didn't happen.

I have more on my camera and my iPhone that I need to sort through. I will post the rest of them by tomorrow.
 

Friday at The Armory After The Show

A photo of Ron Goba after his reading at Richard's Poet's Theater. A great impromptu Q and A session was started thanks to Tom Daley, who was in the audience. I will hopefully post more photos later, including some pictures of Glynnis Lomon, who accompanied Ron's set with amazing musical interludes.
