This one is a little awkward to repost. I was already friendly online with cartoonist/editor John Linton Roberson when I posted this piece back in the day. A few years later, he published me in the anthology I previously gushed over online.for which I'm eternally grateful. Originally published August 12, 2011. Edited for minor punctuation and other things I overlooked when I was trying to write and publish on the fly.

2016 Highlight: This Sickness
I should have gotten this sooner. It's absolutely gorgeous. It serves as a reminder how much books read on iPads and Kindles suffer in comparison to the physical package.
I recommend you buy this book now. John is a top writer, artist and editor. If the comics market was like it was in the late eighties or early nineties, he would be putting this work out on a more regular and profitable basis.
Thank you so much, John.
The rest of you Buy the book now. John gets more money from CreateSpace.

On The Subject of Interviews
Here's a chat with John Linton Roberson done by Sequart (Part One and Part Two) a few weeks back when his anthology This Sickness #8 (with work by yours truly) was released. It's a good time to bring this chat up, as John just had a great life affirming experience a few days ago. Congratulations all around, John.

Nice to Get Props
In private correspondence with editor John L. Roberson, a comics writer of no small water listed my poem "Alpha Jesus" as one of his favorites in the latest issue of the comics/lit anthology This Sickness.
It was one thing he listed out of many, but still, what a thrill.
And there is a lot more to love in this issue than just my work. You should grab a copy of this now.

This Sickness #8 Now Available for Purchase
Just a few years back I was buying and reviewing this anthology of comics and literature by John Linton Roberson (who published me years before in Working for The Man). Now I am proud to be included in eighth issue of this collection, which includes two of my "Jesus Poems" illustrated by Gianna Ratto. Other work comes from writers Charles Alverson and Chris Dewildt and artist Emily Kaplan. All this with a cover by Molly Kiely. You can buy it at CreateSpace now, and I sincerely hope you do so.

It's Coming Together
John Linton Roberson just showed the final cover by Molly Kiely for the eight issue of This Sickness, a title of his that has turned into a great anthology that rivals the likes of modern day zines like Mineshaft. I can't wait for this to be available to purchase.
I'm so psyched to be a part of this. Two poems of mine will be a part of this lineup. It wasn't too long ago that I was just on the sidelines reviewing this title. Check out my review of Issue #7 back in the defunct We Got Issues website here.

Sneak Peek
This wonderful piece of art was sent to me via John Linton Roberson, who writes.
"First mockup of THIS SICKNESS #8 cover; no text save spine. Art by Molly Kiely(f) & Duong T.P.Hang(b).
"Other contributors include comics by myself, artwork by Emily Kaplan (in the first extensive collection of her magnificent and numerous paintings), poetry by Chad Parenteau, a new short story by Chris Dewildt, and illustrations by newcomer Gianna Ratto. As well as a new cartoon written by Charles Alverson & drawn by me."
Can't wait for this to come out. The only thing I'll add to this is that the poems included in this are part of my "Jesus Poems" series.

Good News
I already have a publishing credit set up for January with John Linton Roberson's anthology This Sickness.
I just received a proof of the wrestling anthology Working Stiff. This thing is going to be enormous. Plus the Editor Josh Olsen is planning for a pre-Thanksgiving holiday release. Even better, we no have word who is writing an intorduction, but we're keeping that a secret for a little longer.
More to come.
