Just occurred that reading the post below will make it seem like I'm condemning the whole open mic scene.

I'm always grumpy when I haven't put out a good poem in a couple of weeks.

So, some clarification: There are some great venues, and people who were kind to me when other people barely took time to wipe me off their shoe.
