Friends For Hire
The above photo was taken by Cindy Williams, a co-worker here at the hospital I'm slaving away at. We were lucky enough to work side by side for the better part of my first year. Luckily for her, that changed but not before being good enough friends that she introduced me to her boyfriend, James Conant, who did the cover for my book. Out of gratitude for the having the opportunity to be in print, he made me the sculpture that you see in the above photo--an interpretation of the building on the cover. If anyone ever went in my room, it'd make a great conversation piece.
Since then, I've been trying to get the two of them more opportunites to feature their work. I've been partially successful with Cindy appearing in Pettycoat Relaxer a couple of times, and James has already drawn some pages of our upcoming comics collaboration. Still, I'd like to do more.
So I'm making this announcement here: If any of my writer friends are interested in getting for a little help in the arts/graphics department, I highly recomend you contact James and/or Cindy via my email link in this blog. Hopefully, they'll have a web site of their own in a couple of months that I can link you to. Until then, drop me a line.

Is that a spiffy SPIF collectable pillow or unisex purse?
Hey Chad - I ad an idea for an essay for you. Now that you have gotten your Masters at an esteemed Boston University - perhapos you could write about the stigma of going to a state school for under-grad. I have found that it crops up all over the place - social situations, job interviews. you sort of feel like you have to add something to the end of the sentence. I heard they named "The H Bom" after the silence that follows when someone tells someone that they went to Harvard. Maybe there exists an F-Bomb?
