I was often told I wasn't serious about church and only went to the Catholic Youth Organization meetings just to hang out. True as this probably was, I doubled down. I was actually proud of getting this award, not long after my friend died. Even though I was at college, I tried to keep up with CYO for a while. Now this feels silly. Just another participation trophy.
This was the last of my CYO trophies. I was told not long after this they stopped giving out awards, since other people felt bad about not getting one.
