"My mother told me to be a lady.
And for her, that meant be your own person, be independent." - R.B. Ginsburg

The year 2020 marks 100 years since the passage of the 19th Amendment giving 26 million women the right to vote. While it failed to enfranchise women of color, it was a huge step towards equality. We Did It For You! Women's Journey Through History is the story of how women got their rights in America, told by the women who were there. A dedicated troupe of volunteer women (from cities and towns around the nation) who care about women's rights and active participation in our democracy are determined to entertain and educate you with this incredible experience. All virtual. All FREE thanks to our generous sponsors. Please support them by coming to see our shows.

"I wrote this play because women need to be part of the leadership so that their voices and values are heard. These historical women didn’t just stand by. If Susan B. Anthony, or Alice Paul, or Rosa Parks were alive today, what social cause would she be fighting for? It is time we all act."

We Did It For You! Women's Journey Through History is working with national and state organizations to celebrate and highlight women's suffrage and the importance of voting. We are proud partners of:
