I first read this iconic two-pager from Art Spiegelman and Maurice Sendak when they were first published in The New Yorker. I put these pages in a scrapbook and went back to them again and again even before the internet copied everything ad nauseam. That iconic statement by Sendak ("You can't protect kids...They know everything!") has stayed with me after all these years. In light of the recent Maus censorship, these two pages need to be re-read today more than ever.
